There’s nothing worse than running into a car accident just when you are in a hurry. Since these incidents can be completely unexpected, it’s important for you to be prepared and have the tools necessary to help you in these cases. Here are the top ten things that you need to pack in your SUV such as TOYOTA PRADO trunk so that you would not have to worry as much when you run into a car accident:
1. Accident Kit: This is probably one of the most important things that needs to be in your car. And this goes just beyond band-aids, alcohol or gauzes; you need to make sure that you have scissors, bandage, gloves, some painkillers, compress pack, relief pads and ointments. If you are taking any form of medicine, it would also be good to stash some inside your accident kit.
2. Flare: A lot of car manufacturers would recommend storing a flare inside your car for these kinds of emergencies. A flare will really be helpful especially in cases where you may suddenly be off the road. These burning accessories can help you see what’s ahead and serve as a signal to others and help give you visibility.
3. Flashlight: You probably already have a couple of flashlights in your home; what some do not realize is that you also need one for your car. Anything can happen on the road, especially during the evenings, and an LED flashlight will really come in handy. It will help you check your engine in the event that you get stuck on a dark road. An LED flashlight would be your best choice because it can give you more power than the other inexpensive types.
4. Jumper cables: Jumper cables are necessary for you to be able to go to a place to have your engine and battery checked. Make sure that you are able to keep them in your car.
5. Food and water: You should be able to keep a gallon of water in the trunk. It can either be for drinking or for filling your car in the event that it overheats. This is especially important if you are planning to go on a long trip. It would also be good to store food in your car; it can range from energy bars to chips to any other form of sealed food. Make sure you are able to look at expiry dates so that you won’t run into potential health problems.
6. Blanket: A blanket will not only serve its purpose of helping keep you warm; it can also be very practical for someone involved in an accident to lay down on.
7. Gas Can: Some people have underestimated what a gas can do in cases of emergency. All you need is a small one to make sure that you will have enough so you can reach the nearest gas station available. The small gas can would also help women and older people more.
8. Shovel: This is especially important during the winter since you may need to dig through some snow. This also works for muddy terrains.
9. Toolbox: A toolbox should contain some important repair tools such as a knife, screwdrivers in case you need to do something in your car.
10. Mobile Phone. We should all be able to take advantage of the technology that is available to us. Asking for help would be so much easier if you have the means to communicate through your cell phone. If you’re going on a long road trip, you should be able to find battery operated chargers to make sure that you will have enough power in your phone to make a call and be more prepared!
